Downloaded fine, but took a long time to restart while updating. Everything normal once it did restart.

If this was an iPhone OS update it would be Page 1 material. It wasn't that long that a Mac OS X security update (of any kind) would have generated a mile long thread. I miss those days:(

According to Charlie miller, this update fixes the jailbreakme.com PDF exploit for OSX, so a very important update indeed.

Edit: you've GOT to be kidding me. Apple is just NOW updating PHP to 5.3.2, a month after 5.3.3 is released with more security fixes and a full 5 months after 5.3.2 was released?

Has Apple ever had an up to date PHP? I thought their server stuff always lagged behind a bit.

I downloaded the patch from CH41n$awH4x3r3s.org.

When I rebooted my computer, it now comes up with a skull and crossbones and an error message. "W3 1s 1337. ur H4x3R3d." I am not sure I got an official binary.

Ever heard of: A fool and his money is soon parted.

Here's how it's done:

Is that why PayPal blames Apple [iTunes] and not its customers?

I guess you haven't seen the proof of concept; Someone jumped on the bandwagon and blimey almighty does it work. Now repeat after me: "Where's the money?" Yep. That'll be iTunes and thus...

It's far too easy, almost relaxing, to point a fingers to the innocent end-user who has done nothing wrong.

But until the police actually get a grip on it... this all is speculation, until someone confesses of course.

How do I tell what the security update changed when installing? (I installed while I slept.) I am asking because my system seems a bit faster launching apps this morning.
