QNAP NAS maintaining network connections???
Hi
I have a QNAP 219P is keeps disappearing in finder, however I can see and connect to it in Qfinder and admin, cant see anything in the logs. Can anyone suggest any checks or config changes I can make? I'm wondering if I would be better with a USB drive connected to my timecapsule. Cheers Phil |

Is your QNAP set to sleep the disks after a certain interval? If so, it may be why the Finder can't find the network share via afp but the QNAP admin can find the device itself.

I've just "decommissioned" my QNAP so I can't take a look; but IIRC it should keep the network connections alive even if the disks sleep, so it may be a bug in the QNAP firmware. Possibly worth turning disk sleep off in the QNAP admin, and if that "fixes" it then take it up with QNAP support as to why it's losing the connection.
