Menu bar freeze

Lately the right side of my menu bar (clock, volume, user name) has been freezing up. I can use the rest of my menu bar fine and everything else is okay but when i put my pointer by my clock i get the beachball. The only time i know it is frozen is when i realize its been "3:50pm" for a very long time now. Is there a way to reset it without restarting my computer?

The process that runs these menu items is SystemUIServer, so try the following:

1. Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
2. Type (without quotes): "killall SystemUIServer"
 
use to have the same problem until my boot drive died (kinda), i reformatted and reloaded, the problem went away. their was a thread on this a while ago, zapping pram didn't help, nor motherboard reset.

some though it was the battery on the motherboard, have a search
 
it still does it randomly. I usually have Safari, ichat, itunes, limewire, and bittorrent running. Any suggesting are welcome.

I also have 3 other users with accounts.
 
I notice you have an iPod...

... this happened (or used to) when I had iTunes running and my iPod plugged in - it freezed up the menu bar. Does this only happen when it is plugged in? Try unplugging it and it should fix and "unfreeze"

I did this, but it didn't work out. The hour disappeared and the remain battery time also.

What can I do ?
 
Installed Mountain Lion on my 2006 iMac. All of a sudden I had the pinwheel in top right menu bar/frozen clock problem. This fix worked.
