My first app: open meeting invitations from mail and add them to your calendar
Hi Everyone, I've just launched my first app. It's called Calendar Happy. Since we can't open meeting attachments (i.e. mime-attachment.ics) in iPhone Mail without an Exchange account, I wrote this app. Calendar Happy lets me see my meeting details and save them in my iPhone calendar. It would be nice if iPhone mail had this functionality built in, but for now, hopefully my app will be useful to others as it has been for me.
What do you think? Thanks for any feedback. |

You have to email them your attachment and they mail it back to you in a different format. Guess I should of read the entire description.

Yes, the email process renames the attachment and sends it right back to you so that iPhone mail will allow opening the attachment.
I have my outlook at work setup with a forwarding rule so that anytime someone sends me a meeting invitation, it automatically gets forwarded to Calendar Happy. We don't keep any of the contents of the email. Hopefully Apple will fix this so we don't have to keep renaming attachments. ![]() |
