Oh no! The world's going to end! I'm updating immediately without checking this forum for problems first! Oh no! {extreme sarcasm}

No problems whatsoever.

All I can say is, Apple better release Tiger soon. They're running out of mathematical room for fractional updates for 10.3!

A friendly reminder about Apple's warnings:

Quote:
Important: Please read before installing

* If you have a third-party FireWire hard drive connected, turn it off and disconnect it before installing this update. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.

* You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)

* The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer from Apple Downloads to update.

Still Room

Apple can get 10.3.8 and 10.3.9 away before running out of 'room'... note that 10.2 went through to 10.2.8 before 10.3 came out so if history is a past guide then expect at least one more 10.3 release before Tiger moves into view.

Haven't downloaded it yet - just wants to get into the first 10 replies....

Why is that? Although 10.3.7 came pretty soon after 10.3.6, the usual cycle for updates was 2-3 months. So if Apple keeps it that way, 10.3.8 will be out in mid to late February and 10.3.9 in early May.

Every thing seems well on mine.

Apple have plenty of room for versions numbers:
10.3.9
10.3.10
10.3.11
10.3.12
and so on...

The sub version numbers don't stop at 9

Good on dp2.5 G5 , but dang, no .pdf printing fix

Still can't print the last dozen .pdfs I've downloaded from various sources to my HP 7960. When is Apple going to finally make printing robust in OS X? I'm getting a bit fed up.

just checked the details...

does this fix the battery life issue on some laptops? i'm down to 1.5 hours on a full charge after upgrading to 10.3.6. If this doesn't fix it i may try to revert to 10.3.5.

Good point. They're not normal numbers because there are two decimal points in there anyway.

Actually, there are infinitely more. Glad to see more free updates since I'm not too sure how Tiger might help/not help my iMac 700mhz G4 machine.

Apple says 10.3.7 includes previous security updates. That's true, but it doesn't include two of them:

Security Update 2004-09-16
Security Update 2004-10-27

The other thing 10.3.7 does not include is Java 1.4.2 Update 2.

I just opened up a brand new 14" iBook and I'm applying all the updates right now.

Just to clarify, those two security updates and the java update showed up in my software update AFTER I installed 10.3.7, upon restarting the computer.
