Mail Search does not work since upgrading to Snow Leopard

Hi all. I have been living with this for quite some time and just now am getting around to asking for help. Mail Search works just fine on my office iMac running 10.5, but not on my home iMac running 10.6. My son just sent me an email last night that caused me to need to do a search and I got nothing at home, but today at work that same search works great. Is Mail Search tied in with Spotlight, and could it have something to do with Spotlight preferences? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, I will try that when I get home tonight.

It turns out that the search in SL Mail does use Spotlight and I had it disabled since I very rarely use it and don't like it. I could have sworn that the Leopard version of Mail had its own built-in search but maybe not.
