I have been watching tutorials on final cut because I was planning to buy it well I finally did and installed it when I clicked on the final cut studio app it presented me with a selection of languages I selected english then all these apple pro res files appeared and so I selected one and a message appeared.

There is no application to open this document.

I tried it with several different files but keep getting the same message does anyone know what is wrong?

The tutorials never mentioned this.

What do you mean with "pro res files"?
Are those video files using the Pro Res codec and the QuickTime container .mov?

Why did you have to open anything? And where did "all these apple pro res files" appear exactly?

I assume you have Final Cut Pro?

Can you be more specific of what exactly happened, you can even make screenshots and post them here via the attachment option (Additional Options below the text entry field) or an image hosting service like TinyPic.
