Trying to open a .jar file on mac!

The Java JAR file "" could not be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages.

I need to open a jar file and this is the error i get. Please help!! 😕

Do you have Java installed? Or have you got the latest update?
Where is that .jar file from anyway?

Have you tried deleting it and then re-downloading? Could have been corrupted on download.

I did a software update and no java update came up. So i have the latest version of java. And the download is from the internet. And yes i did try to re download it

Do you mind posting the link to see if others can open it? It is a while since I had a .jar file (2005) thus I don't remember what I did to make it run. It was some "script" to copy music off a shared iTunes library in my network.

Anyway, I haven't found much via search, have you found any pointers?
