I can't proove it with numbers - I'll do some benchmarks with a little project I've done - which is very CPU intesive. Anyway, from the subjective impression, it feels about ... half as fast on a mac. Now thats a a fairly vague guess - actually it feels a bit faster on an iBook 1.2 ghz than it does on a PIII 600 - but it's really hard to subjectively compare and normalize performance from previous experience.
On a G3 the Java performance was terrible.
