Youtube not accepting .mov files?
I edit every one of my videos in final cut pro... I went to upload onto YouTube, and it says "upload failed, conversion failed" or w/e. I've uploaded EVERY SINGLE VIDEO in .mov and it says that the format is wrong? wtf, help.

As spinnerlys pointed out, there is a youtube preset in compressor. Or you could just export an h264 file. They work. |

I don't know with what codec and resolution you are working with but I use the H.264 preset from Compressor which works well for YouTube !
First I export a Quicktime Movie (ProResHQ) to the desktop, and then I import it to Compressor. I find this way to be the fastest and best in terms of quality. If you are using a multicore machine, create a cluster with Apple QMaster in the System Preferences so you can use all of your cores when you are compressing. If you don't know how, google : "Apple Compressor Cluster Qmaster" The Output will be a .mov file which should be no trouble uploading on YouTube.

I reckon you're trying to upload a ProRes .mov file.
At home (where I don't have Compressor) I export a MOV from FCE, open it in QT X, and Share to Youtube. Painless and the results are great. |

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! i'll try the one with Compressor first, and if that doesn't work I'll try the QT X method.
