Is it possible to rip a Blu Ray disc straight to .m4v, .mp4, or .mov? I have no desire for mkv files or subtitles. I just need the title and AC3 5.1 audio. Are there any tools out there to accomplish this paid or free?

No that involves ripping to mkv and then reencoding to m4v. Plus it appears very complicated to set up. I am looking for a way to rip from Blu Ray and make an .m4v, .mov, or .mp4 file with AC3 5.1 audio without reencoding.

spinnerlys gave you a great thread. If you want to rip Blu-ray movies to play in iTunes (and your Apple TV), that's how you do it.

OR

You can just rip MKVs and get something that will play them natively.

Those are the options at this point.
