ibook memory

Hi, I just got my ibook. I installed a 512mb sodimm ram. But When I checked that in OX X it doesn't show 512mb. It says 256mb built in memory. I realy don't know my 512mb memory is working or not. Please help me. Thanks

Did you take it out and put it back in again? If you did and it still doesn't work, i'd send it back.

Yes I did . But still its does not work. Tomorrow I will change it. Thanks for your help. 🙂

I had the same issue with my iBook. Took it out/put it back twice. Gave up. My co-worker offered to try. I said "what the heck." He took it out and put it in. It worked like a charm.
