Anything Goes part II
Hope it's OK to start another thread
![]() MoxieMike, here are some S2 shots I took about 3 days ago. I thought I was having AF problems, but I took it to the Fuji Service Center in town, and they looked at it (free) and told me there were no problems. I ended up chatting with the technician for about 30 minutes. Nice people 4 photos: [reposted them below] I really like the S2. I had the S1, and I really liked the photos it took when I was back in Boston in March. Naturally I went to the S2 and was not disapointed. I want the S3, too (especially since you can emulate Fujichrome color) but it just came out and it's still too expensive for me. In the meantime, I'm going to get the D70 lens kit. I've never had a Nikon before and I want to get my hands on one

I like tohe football shot but the shutter speed is to slow, not sure whats its called on a digital camera.Though i have have this trouble myself. Unlike film to can not alter the film speed up a notch or two than than 'push' process the film.

Somehow I missed this. I'm lame. Or rather wasn't near a Mac for the weekend.
Hey 5300-- are those images still online? Here's a few "anything goes" shots from the past few months: and last but not least, my new friend. ![]()

Hey Moxiemike,
I really like the bridge picture. Is that from the Clemente bridge, or one of the many other look-alikes?

5300-- btw, you'll love the D70. It's very similar in image quality as my d100 but has a bit more range and cleaner lower iso. image quality is great with that lens too, and it focuses FAST (close to my D2h which is a quick one). That said, the camera is probably a bit noisier in the high isos, moreso than the S2. But it's a great camera, responsive, and it feels sturdier than it looks.
But man, i;m still tickled over the color from the S2. Man. I;'ve seen them selling on ebay for around 1200 bux. I could so see that and the D2h at weddings being a KILLER combo. ![]() Checks credit card......

I got a D70 lens set a few days ago. You gotta love Japan and their New Year's sales: D70 lens kit, Sigma 70-300mm, Nikon Coolwalker, 512mb memory card, tripod and Nikon bag, all $1,458.08
Here's 2 pictures I've taken so far in the woods near my house: Nikon's menu system is totally different from Fuji's so it's going to take some time to learn it.

Looks like you're liking the D70, eh? It's great. That kit lens surprised me alot too. Whocares: The "dark" pic looks good to me. very moody. i like that almost all of the shadow detail is gone, and it adds an eerie effect that suits the photo. And sure, if you're in town ever, i'll give you a D2h lesson. It's a funnnn camera to shoot with. Did you see they lowered the price? $2000 now! I couldn't pass that up. ![]() m |

I have the Nikor 70-300mm AF-G lens, too. Actually I have 2 of them. One I got with points from a big camera store downtown so it was free, the other I got with my S2. The seller (on auction) said for an extra $30 he'd throw it in so I said sure. The build quality on it kinda says cheap, but it's solid enough and takes pretty good pictures.
The Sigma I don't really know about since I haven' used it yet. It's still in it's plastic wrapping I've heard a lot of people say stay away from Sigma since they make junky/crappy lenses. I've got 3 and haven't really had any problems with 2 of them. How do you like Sigma?
