Need a recommendation for a gui.
I have a Perl script that plots data using gnuplot. I declare variables at the top of my script and this feeds into a template for gnuplot. I'm looking to create a gui interface where management types can select the variables they want. So basically, I am looking for something simple to graphically select the variables the user wants and feed it into my Perl script. I've never built a gui before and I am looking for some recommendations. I will need this to be portable to Windows. I've looked at Qt, but I'm thinking that it might be overkill.

What kind of plots? How much data? Why do you think Qt is overkill?
If it has to be portable to Windows, your options are more limited. There's Tcl/Tk, Qt, etc.
Or you could rewrite your Perl code as Python or Java or something else with direct GUI capabilities.
You could also write a web page, generate plots with Google Charts (asssuming the data is small enough and the plots are in its repertoire), and then deploy it as a web app.
Without knowing how much data, how it's retrieved, and what kind of plots, it's difficult to be more specific.

The data is simple two column data and I will be doing x,y plots. Maybe Qt isn't overkill but maybe overwhelming to a novice. I'll see if I can find a good tutorial. Thanks for the links, I will check them out.
