I've got a 4G iPod Touch and iTunes 10.0.1 (22).

When I view my iPod in iTunes, I can see the apps, but they windows are somewhat grayed out and I cannot select and organize my apps. I have synced the iPod.

What am I missing here? Why can't I organize my apps with iTunes?

Clicking that box gives me this warning...

Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPod will be replaced with the apps from this iTunes Library.

There are no apps in my iTunes Library.

So won't this erase the apps on my iPod?

Edit: further searching revealed the fix. Right-clicking my iPod's icon in iTunes gets the option Transfer Purchases.

That transferred my apps onto iTunes thus allowing my to sync and organize my iPod.
