Type of firewire cable

Which type of Firewire cable do I need from a G5 to a digitial video camera? I bought a 4-pin to 4-pin but it doesn't work for the G5. Fits in the camera though.

4 pin to 6 pin..
I think all Macs have a 6 pin firewire port. pb and the iBooks certainly do.

thats what I figured.

Also, should I use the Firewire 800 port? Or is that speed supported by the camera?

Nope - use the FW 400 port.

DV only uses the 200Mbit part [ FW 400 basically supports only 3 speeds being 100 / 200 / 400 ] .. so FW400 will do ..
