Aloha,

recently bought my first mac and configure all my software. i've used icq until now and my contacts doesn't have the newest version of icq. They can't see me if i'm on AIM. I tried to log in with my ICQ number (either to login.oscar.aol.com or to login.icq.com - both works).

I can communicate now. Problem is, when sending a message from iChat to another ICQ Account, the message contains a lot of HTML which is plain text in the ICQ Client.

Sample:
Code:
<html><body ichatballooncolor="#EBEBEB" ichattextcolor="#000000"><font face="Helvetica" ABSZ=12 color="#000000">Test</font></body></html>

Anyone has an idea how to stop iChat from using HTML?

I don't see it in the Preferences. I tend to use iChat purely for video, so I'm not too familiar with the text chat capabilities, but I think you're stuck with the HTML additions as long as you're in iChat. Perhaps ICQ (OS X) would be better?
