Photoshop and InDesign?

Hey, will the new Macbook air be able to run Photoshop and inDesign. I wont be doing any "intensive" tasks in the programs, i'd just be opening and exporting in them. Also will it be able to run aperture reasonably well?

Thanks, I.I

Sure thing. If you get the 4GB, more power to you, but 2GB should do alright for small stuff. I've got the entire suite and haven't had a problem.

Thanks for the really quick reply. Do you have an idea what it is like for gaming? forgot to mention that this is on the 11" models.

No idea from personal experience, but graphics have had an update. I'd like to get Starcraft 2 and run my old Warcraft 3. I can't imagine it would be any worse than it is on my old MacBook, which was fine.

That should still have some relevance to the 11".

That's what makes this forum great! Enthusiastic answers to any questions,
even if you have no idea and no "personal experience"...

I was trying to check out PS in an Apple store, but those #### don't have
any Adobe application installed on any computer.
You will probably be able to run it quite easily. Get 4GB of RAM.
CS5 uses all RAM and it does help.

I'd like to know how the new flash/SSD drive handles swapping.
I have tried 3 different SSD drives before finding one which
actually really works with my MBP. I assume Apple know what they
are doing and this drive works, but I wouldn't be surprised if some
issues surface soon...

indesign and photoshop in macbook air

hi,
can you please give more information about indesign in macbook air or let me ask
i am using ps, in and ai not much but when i use these cs5 programs, i create o book, interactive magazines or i plan logo's, photo's for 3-4 hours sometime, is Macbook Air 13"
1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
256 mb Geforce 320M with 4 gb RAM enough for these works, i am now using macbook c2d 2.16ghz 4gb RAM and GMA X3100 (144mb) and i am not pleased the performance of this macbook.
i really want to buy one, because it is so portable, thin, light weighted.
Another choice for me now is to buy
Macbook Pro 13"
2.3GHz dual-core
Intel Core i5
Intel HD Graphics 3000
This is not as portable as the mb Air. Does this two macbook's have so far difference in performance?

I have a new 13"MBP with CS4 installed and it runs the whole suite perfectly. Even if I have them all open.

Get the MBP. you wont regret it.

I have the Ultimate and Photoshop runs better on it than on my previous 15" MBP. Now, I've never opened 20 windows at once so I can't tell you what happens if you do that. But with 5 or 6 windows open everything is faster than on my MBP if that helps.

Thanks for replies, the best choice is to try i think. Buying mbp is good but mb air is more more portable for me. if macbook air can be enough for these works i want to buy macbook air.

For my business I stitch together up to eight high res jpgs from a Canon 7D in Photoshop 4. This works fast and smoothly on my Air 4Gb; on my previous generation Air with 2GB it was terrible...
