HD 4670 256 Mb -vs- HD 5670 512 Mb

Hi, I don't know which iMac to buy, the "high end" 21,5" or the basic one. I really don't need more hdd space, so for me 1Tb is unnecessary, I also don't need the 3,2 Ghz processor.

So my question is, how much difference will I notice in games ? Is the 5670 much better? Is there any FPS comparison anywhere ?

Will use the iMac for Starcraft 2 and WoW.

Thanks for the 4670 info, could not find any info for 5670 though you linked another card.

Hmm, still hard to "compare", would like a head to head comparison, don't want to buy the high end iMac for 300 dollars more if it's not _that_ much better.

The mobility 5730 is the 5670 in the iMac. Apple just advertises it as 5670.

Same goes for the 5750 really being a mobility 5850.

hey bosep

i just bought the higher end 21.5" and bought it for pretty much the same reasons as you... basic use plus WoW and SC2. i had huge problems running WoW since the patch (as in almost unplayable) but now it runs great. i pretty much run all settings at high except water and sunshafts which i have at the lowest settings.

SC2 was basically unplayable on my old imac, i haven't played much but this guy runs it no sweat. i'm definitely glad i spent the extra few bucks for the model with the 5670. for what it's worth my old imac was a 2.16 core 2 duo with a 128mb video card.

hope this helps!

I bought a higher-end 21.5" iMac (this past summer - so have the 4670) because I knew my kids wanted to play games. When I updated WoW to 4.0, it wasn't unplayable, but was certainly seemed to stutter. I dropped some of the settings. I'll try some of the settings you used.
