Changing OS X drop down menu color to HUD or dark grey/black

I'm not certain if this is the right section for this thread. I'm wondering if there is a way to modify the drop down menus to HUD or simply dark grey/black. I've modded OS X 10.6.5 so that my menubar is black with white text/menu bar icons as well as modifying "About This Mac", etc for HUD. The last modification that would bring the theme together is changing the drop down menus to a darker color. I've been trying for months, search, etc. but to no avail.

Apple uses that same gradient everywhere, I don't know where it is though. I bet it would screw some other stuff up if you do change it though.
