Oh No. My iBook's Screen Just Went Crazy.

I was just browsing Mac Rumors, la la la...iPod flash...headless iMac...rumors rumors rumors...then I sneezed, and when I came to, my iBook's screen was going insane. The whole screen was becoming all pixelated grey, except for strange purple and black vertical lines on the left side.

I re-booted and it's fine now. I don't know what happened. 😕

Is it a G3? Sounds like you have a bad logic board, my friend.

I have one of the iBooks with the potential logic board problem. I've had the screen go crazy like that 2-3 times in the last two years. It's possible it is an indicator of future problems, but I've had no problems, and a simple reboot fixed the problem.

It's a 12" iBook G4, still might be the logic board though, maybe...

the g4's dont have the problem because apple relocated the GPU on the logicboard.

if you have a G4 your safe.
