It is a recently purchased LG TV, and the latest Macbook Pro bought in July.

It would help if you could post some links from the Apple website or whatever, thanks:)

Try Best Buy Too

I just got a Mini DP to HDMI adaptor from Best Buy made by Dynex, Best Buy's brand, and it works brilliant. Supports audio as well. And it's $19.99.
