iLife, Aperture and Mac Pro

Hello:

It seems that in any iLife application (09 or 11, doesn't matter) the programme is endlessly searching for my Aperture Library, which resides on a disk other than the boot drive. I have searched this problem and it seems that many others are experience the same spinning wheel and have attributed it to a variety of other reasons and (may or may not) have solved it with opening aperture package contents and deleting this and that. I have tried everything to no avail. Is there a way to solve this problem other than making my images referenced and have the new referenced library reside on the boot drive and the original images on the other drive?

Is this a bug or just a failing of iLife? I could make a smaller, separate library for use in iWeb, but I like having all my pix available.

Thank you so much for any help or advice,

Heidi
