I ordered a mini-dvi to hdmi cable and hooked that into my tv but all that i'm seeing is the start screen. It says I need to hook up the audio but I have no clue how to do any of that. Please help!

Yeah the easiest way to do it is with a phono to jack cable like this http://www.soundware.co.uk/sc/products/Lynx Phono to Jack Cable 1.2m MONO
from your headphones socket to the audio input on the TV. If you don't have the phono inputs on your TV you can get a scart - RCA converter and run everything through the scart socket.
