I have been pondering starting a site which would house as many apple media things as I can get my hands on. I have the sources, but I don't know much about web hosting. Obviously this site need to be flipping sweet, and have some decent bandwidth, so anyone have any recomendations? Want to help?

Hey rondezvous. I was thinking all apple media. TV ads of course, magazine ads, in store material, billboards, media apperances, anything cool! I know I would love a site for that.

Sounds like a great idea. I'd suggest talking to the people at applemedia.com about taking their domain first. Once you start to get a wealth of material, then I'd start doing web design. Once you have a pretty good start on running the website, go ahead and get a hosting company, and you will be set! Update us with what you do, it could be a great site (a quick Google search didn't turn up anything like it). What's your timeframe for doing this?

Yeah, I was checking out domains. I can get appleadvert.com, which I think would work well, uncommon yet specific.

Take a gander at bluewho.com, good value and the service is second to none, I usually get a reply to email within 20 minutes, 24/7. If you need a hand with any PHP/MySQL/XHTML/CSS/Flash/Actionscript etcetcetc drop me a msg.

A site with past keynotes and interviews would go down very well. I can imagine bandwith issues though.

Is that even possible? The keynotes are usually streaming video... I'm not sure it's possible to save those for placement on a different server (not to mention copyright issues, and Apple isn't afraid to sue people)

There are keynotes vids flying around...might even be a torrent of the latest keynote available over at MTKA now...or so a little birdy tells me 😉

look at the first frame of the last keynote (and any other keynote for that matter). it says, apple... copyright... blah blah... dont redistribute... fines... apple legal will whip your a$$ if you do anything with this keynote but watch it yourself... blah blah.

anyone think of that?
