Windows cloning
Does anyone know of a good software for cloning (not imaging) a Windows partition? Easeus wont' let me becuase the source drive is active or something....
I want a full bootable clone, not an image. Any help would be appreciated.

I used to do this with Partition Magic back when I ran mostly Windows, but I don't know how well that works (or even if it is still available) these days.

If you are not afraid of the command line you can do this with ntfsclone from ntfsprogs. (This is one of the tools used by Winclone to create an image.)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-ntfs/ http://www.arekdreyer.com/articles/p...-for-ntfsprogs You can also easily create a bitwise image using dd. NOTE that due to the way Windows boots, especially on a Mac. You generally will not be able to boot your "full bootable clone" without installing the drive to an internal bay in your Mac. USB generally doesn't work, though there has been some limited indication of success in FW enclosures. B
