I have a Yamaha P85 digital piano that is hooked up with a Yamaha UX16 MIDI to USB device. I'm running OS 10.6.5 and Garageband 5.1. I have installed the latest drivers for the UX16 specifically for 10.6.
Nothing will play in Garageband. It recognizes it in the garageband preferences pane and says that one MIDI device is connected. However, no sound is coming into the computer from the piano. In the OSX Midi settings I added a "new device" and have connected the lines to the UX16 device from the up and down arrows between the UX16 device and new external device (I don't know if this was necessary).
When I hit the test set up and press the down arrow my piano DOES make that horrendous noise, however when playing anything while the test setup button is pressed absolutely nothing happens.
Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated. Please help.
