I just found this at Osopinion.
If a developer could write native software that would target two different marginalized groups that together comprise 6 percent of the market -- now we're talking!


Tell me what you think. I'm clueless about these sort of things. 😛
 
Seems like a good article. I agree that OS X development would benefit from Linux having support for Objective-C. A lot of developers would be attracted by that and their programs would have PC (Linux) support as well as Mac.
 
If a cheap re-compile could be accomplished and that's it, it is great!

Macromedia Director is good like that and has been quite a while. Of course, more things would be created for the other platform, if it were cheap to do so.

The Gnu Compiler Collection (GCC) supports Objective-C, but Cocoa has to be directed toward a GUI. Some person needs to create that GUI without stepping on Apple's toes.

Now, if Apple were to license Aqua for x86 Linux...
