I have a mac G4 running on OS 9.2 and I just installed a Viewsonic
PF790 monitor.
I went to control panels to change the monitor resolution, and I
think I set it too high, because now I can't see anything (monitor is
black, even after reboot), and it won't set back lower automatically
like it does on a PC.
Do you have any suggestions how to solve this?
Any help would be very much appreciated.DISPLAY TROUBLE

Try resetting the PRAM (hold down "command" + "Option" + "P" + "r" keys straight after you power the machine up.

Keep holding them until you hear a SECOND startup chime, then hold down the "shift" key to continue the boot without extensions being loaded.

It should boot up in a lower resolution and you can then make adjustments in the control panel.

Thanks,
it worked til a message pop up:
"Monitors cannot be used because a required extension, System Monitor Plugins, is disabled or not installed"

I tried to enable the extension folder, but it says changes only applies after restart, which will put me back to the previous situation.
What should I do?
