Crucial or OWC?

I'm planning to upgrade my iMac (2010 model) 27-inch to 12 gbs of ram.
Any experiences or stories you've went through after ordering from either Crucial or OWC?
Which one would you recommend, and why?
 
Go for whichever is the cheapest. Crucial tends to be more expensive, thus I would buy from OWC (buy their NuRAM, it's the cheapest)

So in this case, it wouldn't matter if it is more expensive?
Cheaper one equal quality/performance to more expensive ones?
 
Keep in mind that OWC has a rebate when deciding on price so you can get money back from your old RAM.

OP is planning to keep the RAM to make it 12GB (stock 2x2GB + 2x4GB from third party)

Ah, I see. I suggest they buy the following then:

It's 20 bucks cheaper than NuRAM since it's their holiday special.
 
Crucial knows that you are a new or returning customer and seems to adapt their prices to that. Last time I ordered ram for my uMBP I looked at the price and when I logged into my account the price of the ram I had chosen suddenly dropped with a few euro's to a new bonus price for returning customers.

But it is also 1066 MHz. 🙂

I know it probably doesn't make a lot of difference in what most of us are doing with 2010 i7 iMac, but most of us are still going to want 1333 MHz since the machine will accept it.

My personal experience upgrading RAM is published in various places, so I'll spare the readers hearing it again.

Bottom line is I would not buy from Crucial right now.

I would buy from OWC, but I would not buy NuRAM. I would buy OWC or Samsung from them.

12 GB of Samsung here, and doing great.
