will they allow it since your just using your apple ID?

or because Mac App Store is separate from iTunes
it wont be allowed

hopefully it will all be tied to your apple ID and they will just have an Apple Gift card, that can be used for the Mac App store, iTunes, or in-store / apple.com purchases.

would definitely make it a lot easier.
