So far so good. Is this a problem to install if I'm running 10.3.6?

I always wondered why they used dates instead of version numbers.. Glad to see apple keeping up with the security through all of this other stuff going on.

nice to see that apple keeps up with this stuff. what a fun job it must be to sit around and try to find security holes in computers all day. must not be very fun when your not that good though...

the new numbering system is cool.

the dates were always a bit confusing for me, seeing as i'm used to british dates

Safari crashed on me after the update.
I hope it was random.

Wow! I click software update, install it, and then check MacRumors. It must have popped up a short while ago.

The only quirk I had was my DSL connection was unavailable (and unable to load any pages -- including 'launchmodem') until another restart.

Does the numbering scheme indicate they expect to post more than 99 such updates during 2005?

They'd use a slightly different numbering scheme, calling this update 2005-0000001 instead.

But it got move to front page.

By the end of January Microsoft would have to change the scheme cos the number would be too high to display on a monitor with the highest possible resolution.

my PB 12" flying 10.3.7 - no problems and Safari working fine

Like they really care. Unless they charged $5 for each update or somthing. lol. That would be brilliant marketing btw...

Lets see, does these plug all the holes that were released before telling Apple about them by some company a week ago who did a security audit of darwin. If so, they were quick, I like that.

All up and runnning here . . . should one repair permissions after a Security Update like this (always wondered if it is really necessary in 10.3)?

Can't hurt, its always a good idea.

Installed....everything seems ok!

eMac 1.25gHz.

Just installed the update along with iLife 05 and iWork 05 (Thanks Small Dog for being fast and tax free!). No problems so far! I guess this pushes the regression of 10.3.8 back a bit?
