Have been trying to set up my new ATV to work with my old TV, I had to buy a HDMI - Component Converter and this arrived today. When I set it all up I can get the picture from the ATV but no sound. I know it works as I can plug my XBox in the same HDMI port and the sound works fine, so it is as if the ATV is not pushing sound, or the right 'type' of sound over HDMI to my converter.
The ATV works fine over HDMI when connected to my other TV (which has HDMI) so why would it not be working with the converter?
