Have a less than 2 year old Mac Pro and just did a TM restore on a new HD install. Had a RAID stripped 2-400GB and replaced with a RAID stripped 2-750GB for a 1.5TB HD. Formated and built RAID fine and did system restore with no problems. When I hit reboot it will only reboot off the install DVD. I tried Utilities, StartupDisk.. and select the new HD (Mac OS X, 10.6.6) but it still boots off the DVD. If removed the DVD it will not boot. I have ran Disk Utility Repair Disk Permissions and Checksum finding no problems. Even did the entire process over with same (no) results. My install DVD is 10.5.6 and the version of Disk Utility is 11.1 (252.4). Is the 1.5TB too large for this version? Also I tried installing a single 2TB and would only format to Fat32 and give an error message when tring to format to Mac OS X Extended (journaled).

Trying "new" approach. Reinstalled my "old" RAID 2-400GB OS X HD and booted (perfectly, was concerned that removing and/or placing them in wrong order would destroy RAID). Used Disk Utility 11.5.2 in 10.6.6 to make RAID 2-750GB and using Carbon Copy to make a clone. Will try booting off the clone in a few hours.

Do I just remove the 2-400GB's from slots 1&2 and then move the 2-750GB's from slots 3&4 to slots 1&2 (3 to 1 and 4 to 2) to boot from the new 1.5 RAID?
