So Instead of doing the file sharing and adding ringtones

the only option I have under apps on my Itunes is sync Apps...after I do this it does not let me do anything but this...there is no option under apps to click on Rmaker and start adding ringtones if this makes sense

I don't know the solution to your problem but I know I have never had a problem using mycellspot.com ringtone maker and it is free so give it a shot.
