Webpage bar won't disappear because of apple bt keyboard

Hi. I just bought the apple bt keyboard to work with the iPad.I was playing around with it and next thing I know while using safari the bar to insert webages won't disappear. Because of this I can't use safari now. Does anyone know how to fix this and the shortcuts that work with apple bt keyboard for iPad? Thanks
