Bright Spot, Center of Screen
Heh! So, I noticed, while sitting outside today and pumping brightness up to full, there was a bright spot about an inch in diameter at the center of the screen. Lowering brightness to minimum clearly illustrated the bright spot. So I searched and found the normal slew of Genius Bar stories, only a few of which were happy (many claimed that Apple considers this problem non-repairable).
Then, on a hunch, I looked at the back of the lid, and noticed it was just opposite the Apple logo, which was facing the Sun. Covering up the Apple Logo with my hand, it appears that the sun was somehow showing THROUGH the Apple Logo (through the lid itself) and affecting the screen brightness behind the logo! I'm inside now, and everything's fine.
Just thought I'd post this in case others had similar "problems".
One note, it's not clear, I suppose, if the Sun was causing any damage to the screen...
