Audio out of sync

I have an issue with some movies that I ripped using handbrake having the audio slightly out of sync with the video. Those movies play perfectly with VLC, but I don't know why they get out of sync when playing them from iTunes on my ATV2.

Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

Thanks,

Wes

I've not had the problem you described. However, I have the opposite: videos playback fine on ATV2, QTX, VLC, etc., but there is sync issue when playing on iPad. I did notice that if I scrub the video a little, the audio syncs again. I think it has something to do with 6 channel AAC.

I might have to check the video files that are out of sync and see if they have 6 channel audio. Any advice on how to change it if they do?

A variety of ways exist. You could use MKVTools to add a 2 channel AAC track. This avoids re-encoding and should be easy to do.
