i dont have first hand experience with it working with XP but as far as i know there should be no problems with it working, however just know in advance that the placement of the command, alt, and control keys is different and may/probably will not function correctly under windows xp because of this

thats an interesting question, but now that i think about it i doubt that it would work because the module wouldnt receive enough power to function, also i dont think it would work because BT devices need to be paired to specific computers, so i dont think it would be possible to switch between the two, even using a switch

Not to mention the fact that the KVM switch would have to understand bluetooth dongles and keyboards.

Although that's an interesting idea for a KVM switch... have it pair with the kbd and mouse with a built in bluetooth adapter.

the usb port will be powered....


.... and the bluetooth module i use on my ibook recognizes the keyboard pretty fast when i plug it into the usb port....


so i suppose it may be a question of what exactly the pairing does... does it alter anything on the keyboard end?

but if the kvm switch does powered usb, it shouldn't have to understand bluetooth should it? thats up to the comptuer....


I will have an answer to this question when my xi computer workstation arrives in a few weeks...... but i'd really like to know now!

Does the KVM have it's own power source? If not, it's an unpowerd USB hub and may not have enough power to drive the bluetooth dongle.

As for the KVM having to understand the bluetooth keyboard that depends on how you switch between computers. Some use keyboard commands. Also, some KVMs will have problems if they don't detect a keyboard.

Also, the bluetooth pairing may get in your way of using the keyboard with more than one computer.
