What graphics card (with mini display port) should I get for my Mac Pro 1,1? – will it even work with a Cinema Display 27"?

I look in the forum, but I am only getting more confused and there are not many comments regarding the 27".

Can someone help?

The 5770 and 5870 will work in your mac pro, if you are running snow leopard and be fine with a 27" display.

Or you could get a DVI to MDP adaptor that runs 150 or so last time I checked.

ATI 4870 would be another option. Has better performance than the 5770 but comes with two outputs only.

Not trying to Hijack because I have the same question. Are there any flashable PC cards that have Mini-DP?

I'm essentially looking for the cheapest option to add Mini-DP to my 1,1.

Flash info?

So I would be interested in buying this card, does anyone have a link to find the ROM? I've never flashed a card, but I've been reading up on it and I think I can handle it.

TBH it's not dramatically better enough to justify the extra power drain and noise etc... Get a 5770:D

True (although noise isn't an issue with the card, it's dead silent), but there might be some deals on ebay from people who upgraded to one of the newer cards.
