safari and itunes crash at opening, adobe won't open

2009 Mac book os 10.6

My daughter moved to the UK for school, now her macbook doesn't open safari or itunes.

First: Safari and mail would not open and only Firefox would connect to the internet. Now Safari and itunes crash on opening

Can anybody help?
