Mac App Store won't let me install previously purchased apps on a different computer

Hello all,

I'm having the worst time figuring out why the Mac App Store won't let me install previously purchased/downloaded apps on a different computer. It says that the apps are already installed but I hadn't even launched the Mac App Store on that computer. Not sure what to do.

If you already have a particular application installed on your machine the App Store will notice and inform you as such. If that isn't the case (i.e. you don't have them installed at all) then I have no idea.
