This is one of those "Why the hell didn't I think of that?" ideas.
Daft woman, only made 260. She should have known they'd sell out fast.
:D

Graphic artist Lydia Leith has designed an unusual souvenir to mark the forthcoming royal wedding between Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Her royal sickbag is designed as an antidote to the multiplicity of kitsch memorabila being produced to mark the wedding on April 29.

Lydia Leith, 24, has designed a sick bag to coincide with the occasion – and has already sold out of her first batch, available for £3 each.

Lydia, who now lives in Edinburgh and is a graduate from the city’s College of Art, admits she does not think it will be used as a sick bag.

She originally made 260 limited edition bags, which have sold out, but is now busy making more.

They are available from her website, www.lydialeith.com.

oh I want one - will she ship to the US? I'll need one soon the way the US media is fawning over their every move ...

If only I could move to a remote uninhabited island somewhere until its all over....

Indeed, because then they will have kids which grow up and get married, although I think in the UK we are getting the day off which will be nice.
Countries all over the world are overthrowing powerful families why won't England do the same.:p

You know why.

They aren't powerful, just rich with trappings, which belong to the Crown, and not one individual.

And I doubt that any of them have Swiss bank accounts. :p

Actually we did do that. 1642 - The English civil war. Had one of the very first 'modern' republics (not counting the Ancient world etc). But after "Our Lord Protector" (Cromwell) died we welcomed back Charles II.

Saw a chap on the telly a while back chatting about the Sealed Knot society (famous civil war re-enactment group) and he was asked how they decided which 'side' new members were allocated to (Roundhead or Cavalier). The guy just started laughing and said even now everyone pretty much already 'knows' which side they'd have fought for - and that there would be real bloodshed if they tied to make people switch sides to even things out...

Pffffffft. :rolleyes::p

I may have little interest in the Royals but they cost collective Britons less than £1 per year (quickest link I found) but they bring in massive revenue, not the least of which is tourism by those (usually foreign, often American) who are fascinated by them. I think the royals are good value for money. Their actual power is very limited. This is a country with a lot of old tradition that doesn't mean the corruption it once did. That's all in the governments now. :-/

At least we get a day off when they get married. That's all I'm bothered about :D

I think we fell out over the regional assemblies issue on the 2010 General Election thread.:p

I was just thinking back to my wedding, thankfully I didn't have cold feet but if I did I wouldn't have been be responsible for upsetting world leaders who had made the trip and cancelling 60 million peoples' bank holiday! Talk about pressure to turn up!

I hope everyone has their sick bag ready as the 12 hour plus wedding coverage is about to start :D
**** that, luckily in the US the coverage doesn't start until 4 am, I'm sleeping through the train wreck.:p

Yeah, it's on all the news channels here.

I watch the morning news before heading off for work for traffic and weather, but every single ****ing channel has royal wedding coverage. So instead I turned on ESPN, which is covering the NFL draft - the only thing I could care about less than the royal wedding.

Thank ceiling cat for CNBC. I saw a report that there was more coverage of the wedding in the US than GB. Sad.

Even sadder, news divisions cry poverty in covering international news yet send a dozen reporters with associated support staff for a ****ing wedding.
