Talking Os x 10.7 Lion enabled 64-bit kernel on late 2008 MacBook 5,1 Aluminum

Just FYI
OS X 10.7 Lion enabled 64-bit kernel on late 2008 MacBook 5,1 Aluminum . Looks like the restriction on non pro MacBook is lifted. Wonder if it lasts past beta...

Do you notice any difference in performance compared with SL?

64-bit kernel across the board as default would be a nice move ... about time it happened really

Hi. Can you expand on what you mean by this a bit more.

Do you mean under Lion your MacBook 5,1 will now boot to 64-bit kernel where it wouldn't under Snow Leopard?

I have a MacBook 5,2 which will only boot to 32-bit kernel.
