After upgrading, my iPhone 3Gs has the following under the "Set Up Personal Hotspot" button in Network settings:

"Personal Hotspot lets you share your iPhone's Internet connection with your computer via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB"

So does this mean that the 3Gs CAN actually work as a real wi-fi hotspot (meaning share over Wi-Fi)? This was advertised as a iPhone 4 only feature (with the 3Gs only able to use USB or bluetooth tethering).

If anyone has done this successful please update! I can't test this myself until I know for sure because "upgrading" to tethering plan will force me to lose unlimited.
