Hi,

I'm a freelance designer. I recently started doing the bulk of my work on my macbook. I was just curious what other designs thought about using the trackpad vs. a mouse for serious work? I haven't done any heavy vector drawing with the trackpad yet, but I was wondering if you think it offers the some level of control as a conventional mouse? Thanks.

Sincerely,

Phil

I suggest you just try doing your design work with only your trackpad and see if it works for you. If not, you can add a mouse or a tablet. By the way, there is a program called Inkscape that will turn your touchpad into a tablet. You can get a demo version for free from http://tenonedesign.com/inklet.php

Hi everyone. Thanks for the advice and the links! That program that transforms the trackpad into a tablet sounds pretty interesting :)

Thanks again.
