Carrying case and a sleeve?

Hi all, I'm the recent purchaser of a new 17inch Powerbook, and I'm looking to get a case in it that can also hold school stuff, be it in a seperate section. My question though is not about what bag to buy. The question is, should i be getting a sleeve for the Powerbook to go in, and then have it go in the bag. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, particularly if you're using one set up or another for yourself.
