I often dump files onto the desktop while I'm working on them. Last week I saved 2 excel files and 2 illustrator files on the desktop while I was working on them. I've since moved the illustrator files into another folder.
When I dble-click one of the Excel files it opens that file, plus the 2 illustrator files, all in Excel! Of course, the illustrator files are just garbage, not recognisable images.
I'm not sure how to change this, or even if I can.
Repairing permissions has had no effect. The 'Get Info' doesn't show anything unusual on any of the files - they're associated with the correct programs.
Any clues????
