Album Art
Does anyone know how to get hold of album art in a quick, and effective way?
If I rip my cd's into itunes, I just hit a button and all the track names are there. But there doesnt seem a quick way to get album art into itunes. I know I can drag and drop a picture, but where do I get these pictures from? I dont have a scanner to start scanning all my cd covers, and to be honest it would just take to long. I've got a new ipod photo on the way, and i'd like to play around with it and see all my cd covers. I'm sure the novelty will wear off after five minutes, but hey its going to be a shiny new ipod! Thanks Jason |

Go to versiontracker.com and search for iTunes album art. I think there are quite a few programs that do this. I think I used one called FetchArt awhile back. No matter what, it's a long process.

There are a few programs one is called fetchart I think. Don't remember any names because I don't use them mosly.
What I do is just go to Amazon.com and look up the CD. They usally have high res pictures of the CD art on the site. I just drag and drop the art to the songs I want.

Hey guys
Much appreciated I've used the amazon and allmusic suggestions, and also used http://www.slothradio.com/covers/ Goodness this takes for ever though. I've decided to call it a night as its almost 4am! Sometimes you just start something and dont know when to quit. I've got three genres left to get through, and deleted about five or six songs that made me think, what the hell is this doing here! I wish there was a quicker way of doing this, but guess not. Jay |

I use musicmatch jukebox free version and it pulls the art off of CDDB in most cases.

OK, now that I have had my iPod for a month or so I have a few questions about artwork. It seems that if I purchase music from ITMS it will include the album cover artwork.. however if I use iTunes to import my CD's it does not get the artwork. If I use musicmatch jukebox to import my CD's it gets the artwork but they are smaller than what I get from purchased ITMS songs. I thought that is was because the info was coming from two different sources but it appears that gracenotes CDDB and the old CDDB that MMJB uses are one in the same. Is there something that I am missing as far as getting iTunes to import my album art when I rip a CD? Help please as I would really like to get rid of MMJB.

You all forgot to mention the best one out there-Corripio!
Gets artwork well, like most all of them do. Gets lyrics. Fixes tags. Allows you to add custom scripts. Works on a one-time run, not as the song is played in iTunes. http://nclasssoftware.com/corripio |

If you have the metadata all filled in properly (Artist/Album) then just Ctrl-Click or Right-Click one of the songs. Click "Get Album Artwork". When it comes in, it's usually a high-quality 600X600 file. Copy it to your desktop and then click all the files and apple the art to them all.
Done. If iTunes doesn't have the artwork, just go to Amazon. The programs listed are fine ... but they seem to be more trouble then they are worth for a well-organized library. Just my 2/100ths of a dollar. |

Well iTunes couldn't find album art on it's own 3 years ago. Maybe thats why they didn't mention it?
