Disable sleep mode when closing Macbook lid?

Is there a option of disabling sleep mode when closing the lid of a macbook pro?

InsomniaX and Caffeine are two applications you might like.

May I ask what for? I'm always intrigued by people that want to close the lid with the computer remain awake(unless we're talking clamshell mode).

Do you mean you want to use it in clamshell mode?

Caffeine won't keep your MBP awake with the lid closed. To do that, use InsomniaX or InsomniaT (rebuild for SL) (fix for 2011 MPBs)

Thanks that's what i was exactly looking for. Now i can connect my macbook to my HDTV with the lid closed. Thanks again.
